Having a turbo rear mounted means that as the charge air from the turbocharger travels back to the engine it is simultaneously cooled by the ambient air running underneath the car saving the need.
Rear mount turbo stand alone oil system.
This is installed on the pump discharge port and prevents oil from backflowing into the pump section.
Because of their somewhat laggy nature a rear mounted turbo system would ideally be applied to an engine no smaller than 4 0l.
Oil feed and return while you certainly can have a stand alone oil system for a rear mount turbo it seemed like added complication for little benefit to me so on the ones i ve had dealings with we ve always just fed the engine oil the traditional way an oil feed pipe direct from the engine.
With turbos instead of mufflers you can retain stock exhaust manifolds catalytic converters mid pipes and have a distinctive performance sound that is sure to turn heads.
Finding room for the turbochargers is only half the battle you ll also need to make sure there s space to run the tubing as well and that it doesn t pass too close to suspension components or hang too low underneath the vehicle where it risks being scraped or damaged.
Oil return is a bit different though.

Typically wherein the oil return line is all the way from a rear mounted remote turbo to the front of the car.
